 1. First, their audio and video interface are different. The HDMI connector is smaller, so the case of the HDMI KVM is more slim and suitable for desktop application. The DVI connector provide screws which keep the cable connection more stable. 

2. Second, the DVI KVM can be installed in a rack, but the HDMI KVM can not. 

3. The DVI KVM support LAN/RS232 commands to switch the sources.
